About Ibi
Hey there! I’m Ibi, and I’ve traveled to 36+ countries (yep, still counting). Welcome to my little space on the Internet where I tell you all about my travel journey and spill the tea; it’s all honesty over here.
I work in the tech space as a growth specialist, and I really love my job because it funds my true passion: traveling! I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, and as far back as I can remember, I have always loved exploring. Going on road trips to this day is one of my favorite things to do.
When it was time to choose a university, I purposely picked one up north, even though home (Lagos) is out west. The 14-hour bus ride to school was an adventure in itself. Seeing new places and getting a peek at different cultures just confirmed my love for exploration and adventure.

I currently live in Dubai, but Nigeria is still home, and I visit often, most times once a quarter. When I am not traveling, I am cuddled up with a book somewhere in my home or trying out a new restaurant.

Why I started this blog
I took my first trip out of Nigeria in 2018 to Dubai. Talk about God’s plan, right? I felt the most alive, and it cemented what I had always known: I love traveling. So when I started actively traveling in 2021, there was not a lot of information about traveling as a black woman with a passport from a third-world country.
If you wanted to travel as a Nigerian to Bali in 2019, there was no information anywhere on IG on how to go about it; no one was talking about the visa process, the documents needed, how much it would cost, how to navigate flights, or what to expect, etc. The few who had visited only posted nice pictures of the Bali swing with zero information.
The people visiting those locations like Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, etc., were people who didn’t look like me and had a privileged passport with a different culture. I wanted travel tips and information from someone who looked like me, had a similar culture to mine, and there was none, and that’s why I started Travl with Ibii. I created this blog to share detailed, practical advice for anyone that wants to travel so planning your trip feels easier and more accessible.
Why Travel with Ibii is different
Most travel influencers highlight pretty places, not the practical details like visas, travel costs, or how to navigate flights. A travel influencer would post beautiful photos from China, for example, but not explain how to get there as a Nigerian traveler. My goal is to demystify travel and break down the information as much as possible. I want to tell you everything I experienced so you can avoid mistakes and only take the enjoyable parts. So come along this journey with me.
xoxo, Ibi.
